Education Ministry holds Schools Regatta in bid to combat Obesity

The Ministry of Education in collaboration with ‘Lospitalite’ Club from the Tourism Department and Constance Ephelia Resort is organising an Education Regatta competition for all Secondary (state and private) schools.
The aim of the competition is to stop obesity via various sporting activities and to introduce water sports to students. The competition is open for only Secondary schools S1-S5.
This will take place on Saturday 13th April from 09:00 am to 3:00 pm at Port Launay Beach.
The day will be a family fun day and the ministry is requesting all participating schools to extend invitations to parents, family members and the community, and join the Ministry of Education in the first Education Regatta.
The Education Regatta will comprise of three editions - Western Edition, Northern Edition Inner Island edition.
The competition will comprise the following events: Road Race, Cycling, Swimming, Kayaking, Waiters Race, Water Polo, and Iron Girl & Iron Boy.
