Trust nee Zelka
She was named Zelka at birth by her great grandmother, but one auspicious day her mother just told her that her heart was telling her to call her Trust.
Trust it became, and indeed she has grown up be all that this wonderful word and name projects – loving, conscientious, and searching methodically and passionately for her true place in life.
“Life is a lesson that people need to understand. Your ways are not my ways; your time is not my time. Be gentle with yourself but once you notice that where you’re standing is not nurturing you, you need to move on”, she pronounced, still too young to pronounce these words.
After gathering her diploma in Human Resource, Trust has taken up a job in HR.
She says she chose that route because she loves working with different minds and oversee different perspectives, adding “….but at the same time I respect rules and regulations that are set to achieve the goals that are set”.
Zelka Bistoquet went to Belonie School where she had a rather rough start, failing classes and skipping school, and remembers being bullied. “It was a bit hard to truly accept myself, but that period of my life groomed me and taught me so much”.
“What I took away from this period was determination and the desire to be true to myself and learn”, she admits.
Looking back on her early life she said: “My family is well, what can I say, one truly special group of people I would say, but their imperfection is what makes them perfect.
“My grandmother and step-grandfather have been the two pillars in my life really. The fact that I did not live with my parents, I have always found comfort living with my grandparents. It is not always easy but that has also helped me to be more independent”.
Trust is actively searching
From a difficult start to life, Trust has bloomed into a person who is actively searching for her true niche in life, and is going about the journey mindfully and conscientiously.
She confesses: “My passion right now is marketing and advising. I am a model who chose the freelance journey. I had to brand and market myself, which was not an issue as I am good at find content and editing my own reels, in order to get some work.
“The passion to move freelance was really inspired by an Academy that I took some classes with. LIVBEAUTYACADEMY gave me a wider view on how to be a model and the ethics that go with it.
“ I am someone who dreams to own my own business someday, my own marketing business of course. And I love to analyze the statistics to start and market a business, know your audience, what can you provide that differs you from your competitors…etc.
“I also love giving advice to people who want to pursue the own business or make a different step in their life”.
Trust considers that one of her biggest achievements in life is being true to herself. “I stopped pointing fingers at others but rather questioned myself why am I in this position? Rather than looking for reassurances in people, I trained myself to reassure myself. And that really helped me to develop, grow and mentally become independent.

Foray into Modeling
What has the foray into modeling been like? I enquired.
The reply was spontaneous: “Modeling for me was the path to my self-esteem. I gained confidence. I just love the feeling of walking in a room and owning it, and which is why I want to do that right now but outside of modeling - inspire young teens and women.
“I believe that in anything you do in life, mentorship is very important. Yes you can do it but, you’ll never really fully move by yourself. Mentoring, networking, and support are key to sustained success.

“LIVBEAUTYACADEMY’s Stephanie Duval has given me one of the most amazing mentorships I’ve ever had, through Modeling, pageants and honestly just having someone with whom one can share inspiring and innovative ideas. It also really amused and comforted me to see women who have achieved supporting one another.
Since you seem to have a long way Trust, what else would you like to share? I ventured.
“I would add that life is going to be hard but you cannot let your past define you but rather motivate you for your next move. Be kind to yourself, you’re doing life and life is unexpected and no one was born KNOWNING, but ensure that you have an open mind to learn.
“Change is good; it’s frightening but what’s life without fear. I wouldn’t be where I am today or achieve the things I did if I was not afraid, because fear is an alarm”.
Trust me Zelka, with this attitude and frame of mind, you will go far.
